Low-frequency trading (or low-frequency trading, LFT)
It is a trading style in financial markets characterized by trading less frequently and with a longer time horizon compared to high-frequency trading (HFT). It is a slower strategy and generally involves decisions based on fundamental, technical or macroeconomic analysis, rather than relying on ultra-fast algorithms.
In the automatic we are going to use a low frequency trading strategy:
1. Infrequent operations: Transactions can be daily, weekly or even monthly.
2. Longer duration of positions: Assets are usually held for days, weeks or longer.
3. Focus on detailed analysis: Buying and selling decisions are usually based on the analysis of trends, market patterns or company fundamentals.
4. Less technological dependence: Although it can use advanced tools, it does not depend on high-speed algorithms such as HFT.
5. Lower transaction costs: Due to the lower volume of operations, the associated costs (commissions, spreads, etc.) are lower than in high frequency strategies.
In manual trading we are going to use long-term strategies:
1. Buy and Hold: It consists of buying an asset and holding it for a long period, regardless of short-term fluctuations.
2. Trend Following: It is based on identifying and following market trends, buying when prices are rising and holding them as long as the trend continues.
3. Value Investing: Popularized by Warren Buffett, this strategy looks for undervalued assets based on their intrinsic value.
4. Growth Investing: Focuses on companies with high growth potential, although they may be overvalued according to traditional metrics.
5. Dollar-Cost Averaging: It consists of investing a fixed amount regularly, regardless of the price of the asset at that time.
6. Momentum Investing: Invest in assets with strong recent performance, hoping the trend continues.
